Tarheel & Toe goes High Tech for 2008
Due to the success of our relationship with www.MotorsportReg.com, the HPDS committee has voted to continue to use this as our sole method of registering HPDS applications for the 2008 season. Note that Friday prior to an event weekend is reserved for our hard working instructors and is available at a cost to them. Instructors may NOT participate in the Friday orientation unless instructing for the weekend. This time is used for orientation and evaluation of guest instructors, training for our instructor cadre and time to share information to improve the HPDS to follow. Students are not invited to the Friday Instructor Day with the exception of Instructor Candidates. Potential instructor candidates are chosen from among our A level HPDS students. See “Becoming an Instructor” in the Q & A section of this web page. We would like to thank the HPDS team members for their devotion to the program and we have their commitment to continue to serve our students. Gilbert Renolds will lead our efforts to expand the Street Survival program through out the chapter area's by working with the area coordinators, and April Curtis will work with Richard John to facilitate the ITS program for new HPDS instructors. JoElla John will continue to serve as chair of the HPDS. James Semones will coordinate the Chief Instructor team of Shane Gunn and Mike Hinkley. Sandra Ford and her registration/information table crew will continue to work hard to insure that the event registration runs smoothly. We hope to continue to provide some Skid-Pad work this season to augment the in-car instruction on track. It is shaping up to be a great season, and we can hardly wait. Would you like to assist the HPDS effort? Please contact JoElla John at jjohnmcoupe@aol.com and offer your services. We could use the help of : Artists, skid pad instructors, sponsors, information table volunteers and help with packet preparation. We enjoy new enthusiastic members and the new ideas they offer, so if you have the time and want to help out, let us know. Thank you for your support of the Tarheel & Toe driving school program in the past and especially in the future. Long live the Sport of High Performance Driving. JoElla John
